Increase of data allowance
Following the news of the national lockdown that was announced on Monday evening, the Government is offering the ability to temporarily add data to mobile phones to families/pupils that fall into particular categories.
The scheme will increase data allowances for mobile phone users on certain networks. This doesn’t mean that the phone would need to be used to access the work, other devices could be connected to the phone to use the extra data for internet connection. This will allow pupils to access remote education now that, in most instances, face-to-face education is disrupted.
At primary school, the criteria for eligibility is pupils who:
*are in Years 3–6
*don’t have access to a fixed broadband connection
*cannot afford the additional data *needed to access educational resources or social care services have access to a mobile device that uses a particular network
*are facing disruption to their face-to-face education, or who have been advised not to attend school
If you think that your child falls into any of these categories, please contact the school office. You will be by Mrs Baron to provide the following information:
account holder’s name
whether you pay monthly or pay as you go
Many thanks for your continued support in these difficult times.
